Giving Thanks
There is no avoiding the Truth of God’s Word
In time, I will be required to give an account of my life choices
It is one of the reasons I keep a Gratitude Journal
This week like every other there are negatives
My pain levels escalate as the cold makes my legs ache so much
My favourite perfume oils are no longer available
It is too easy to let the negatives stain my days
However they do keep me humble
So I deliberately record the joys mostly the small things to outweigh the woes
Herein I find delight
And I am truly thankful…
* Once again I rejoice the freedom gained using a powered wheel chair for walks
* Walking and Talking by the River
* So much Beauty and Peace so close to home
* Lavish clouds
* Seeing a dragonfly catch its prey in flight – yucky but wow
* Waterfall recently uncovered and restored
* Frogs singing in unexpected showers
* Trees and bushes glistening in the sun
* Old tree stump hosting a colony of fungi, the kind of place ‘once-upon-a-time’ begins
* Bronzed bulrushes edging the water
* Others walkers, glances, nods and cheerful hellos
* Sulphur Crested Cockatoos and Corellas grazing beneath the trees, using powerful beaks to break the ground
and reach roots and corms
* Soft leather sofas and hot coffee mugs warming cold hands at the halfway point
* Rediscovery of board walks through watermeadows
* Ethnic cleansing of non-native vegetation has taken autumn colours, but subtle shades of yellow wattle flowers and
pale pink bluegreen of flowering gums makes up for it
* An evening of togetherness meeting new family members & celebrating Motherhood
* Witnessing proud parents, watch their son and his Pa, step by step build a Lego truck
* Granting a small boy’s wish that Ma and Pa bounce on the trampoline, it pays to be foolish now and then
* Hubby’s safe return from a postie bike ride to Stieglitz
* He finished cooking the roast dinner I started – team work
* A hard-won warm, safe home for cold dark winter-bearing nights, and prayers for those who have not
