Family Thanksgiving
This week we were sorely tested
Ground breaking technology
Unused by doctors
Meant we witnessed inoperable cancer take a young life
Yet again we struggle with Truth
A young son, brother, husband, father, friend
And we cry ‘Too soon’
We pray – ‘Your Will’
We weep
‘But Why…?’
In Truth
‘Why not…?’
Each one of us will follow
Sooner
Later
Into Everlasting Arm
Without God
Hopelessly Dark
With God
Hope and Light…
I thank You God for so much togetherness
In that Hope
In that Light
Celebrating
Togetherness of differences
- Colour
- Size
- Age
- Sex
- Ability
- Sensibility
- Sabbath Praise
- Sabbath Teaching
- Sabbath Rest
- Fellowship keeping us soft and strong
- Two young bachelors sit together sharing world-view
- Earnest conversations eye to eye understanding
- Elder speaking to younger – respectfully listening
- Father sits with young son sharing a muffin
- Ballet friends practising steps
- Little girls running
- Little boys walking
- Shoulder to shoulder blonde and black
- Small child cries daddy running long- legs hugging
- Baby cuddles and smiles shared
- United in grief and belief
- A touch, a hug, a kiss, a smile – freely given, gratefully received
- Grieving Father – eyes edged with sorrow
- Heavy hearted Mother at Peace
- Surrounding Comfort
- Finding smiles
- Fellowship lingering long, no rush to leave
When family want to share… in all things, surely The Strong, Healthy Father’s Heart, is at work
